Parent University ~ Session #3

Thursday, November 14, 2019 ~ 8:20 AM

The topic for this session is Social/Emotional.

Workshop Facilitator: Darin Privett, PhD

Dr. Darin Privett is an Emergency Medicine physician at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and has been practicing for 15 years. He trained at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, which is the third largest independent teaching hospital nationally with affiliations with Mt. Sinai Medical Center and State University of New York at Downstate. He and his wife live locally in the Santa Clarita Valley with their 4 children. At Henry Mayo, he has served as the EDAP Medical Director, Emergency Department Disaster Medical Director and the Base Hospital Medical Director for the past 10 years. He is passionate about community outreach, education and awareness. He understands how vitally important it is to warn our youth regarding the dangers associated with drug use and addiction.

West Creek Academy is committed to communicating the school’s vision to work together with parents to guide your children’s health and learning. We created our Parent University to provide a variety of parent-only sessions that offer parenting support, increase communication with parents, support learning at home, and encourage parents to be part of collaborating with the school and the community. We hope to address some of the common challenges we all face as we navigate the elementary years and beyond.

*All sessions will be held in the MPR.
