WCA PTA is excited to have our West Creek families -- from 6-8 PM on Friday, February 19th in the MPR -- help our local chapter of Project Linus!
Through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “Blanketeers," the non-profit Project Linus provides love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. West Creek Families will have the opportunity to come together alongside volunteers from Project Linus to learn how to make fleece no-sew blankets as Blanketeers -- no sewing experience necessary! The blankets we create will be donated directly to our local chapter of Project Linus.
Project Linus is always in need of your help to assist in fulfilling their mission. If you can't make our event on February 19th you can donate home-made blankets by dropping them off at the West Creek school lobby anytime between now and February 19th. All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be homemade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons.
To help us determine the amount of supplies we will need, we ask that you let us know if you will join us by signing your family up on our sign up genius link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090A48A9AE2C7-matters/.
Thank you!
