West Creek Academy PTA is thrilled to participate in the National PTA Reflections Arts Program.
Only new and original works inspired by the theme: I AM HOPEFUL BECAUSE...will be accepted.
Enter in one or more of the following arts categories.
View the general rules for the program here.
All digital works and/or performances can be submitted on a jump drive.
Entries are due in the West Creek Academy Multi-Purpose Room or front of the school on Tuesday, October 17th between 7:45am and 8:30am. Your submission must include a completed and signed Student Entry Form, available here: Reflections 23-24 Student Packet.
In your artist statement, tell us about your work and what it means to you.
Volunteer arts and education experts review submissions without knowledge of the entrants’ identity. Judges look for personal interpretations on the program theme that best exemplify creativity and technical skill.
It's time for our annual FUN RUN FUNDRAISER! On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, West Creek Academy PTA will host our Fun Run to have fun and raise funds to support West Creek Academy programs and activities. With more than 1,000 enrolled students, our goal is to raise $150,000!
With more funds, we can have more fun! Your support helps provide programs including our one-of-a-kind CalArts partnership/program, all student Field Trips, in-school Assemblies that our kids enjoy, Scholastic News that teachers use, Family nights such as STEAM and Global Night, our annual Talent Show, Reflections Art program, Student Activities including sixth grade promotion, and more!
Students will be running and exercising their way around the school’s track while volunteers and teachers line the track to CHEER them on!

Get your child's Fun Run donation website set up TODAY!
Step 1: Set up your child’s donation website on PledgeStar as follows:
Step 2: When you finish, the system will email pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help. Remember only you and those you share the URL with can see this site.
Step 3: Have fun, watch your donations roll in and support your child’s education. If you collect checks or cash, please fill out this form when you turn them in by TBD. Thank you!
Donation page FYI: The amounts for our individual, family, and school incentives are fixed, so why does your donation page goal keep changing each time a donation is made? The PledgeStar system automatically ups your goal to give visitors to your page more incentive to donate. Donation page goals do not factor in to our incentives program.
NOTE: The last day to submit donations and pledges is TBD.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS***
How Should My Child Dress for the Fun Run?
Parents, please dress your child in appropriate attire for the Fun Run. This would be similar clothing to that of a normal PE day including pants, shorts, tennis shoes, etc. Make sure your child has a reusable water bottle. Additionally, please do not forget to apply sunscreen prior to their arrival at school!
How Can I Help with Fun Run?
Here is our sign up sheet to volunteer (you must be an approved volunteer with a completed TB test and have attended the training): TBD
When Will My Child Get His/Her Participation Shirt?
Students will receive their participation shirts on Fun Run morning just prior to their grade level scheduled run time.
When Will My Child get His/Her Incentive Prizes?
The PTA is making an effort to distribute as many prizes as possible to our students as donations are received and recorded. We will endeavor to get prizes out weekly, as needed. Please remember the deadline for donation in order to receive incentives is TBD.
Shoot for the stars on November 9th, 2023! Whether you are singing, performing comedy, providing a skit, playing an instrument, or dancing, you are welcome to join this year's talent show. In order to make it an experience that is fun for participants and the audience, please see below for important dates and performance guidelines.
**DATES TO REMEMBER**
Friday, September 22: Interest and Release forms due
Tuesday, September 26-Wednesday, September 27: Auditions
October 17-19: Rehearsal Week 1
October 24-26: Rehearsal Week 2
Thursday, November 2: Dress Rehearsal
Thursday, November 9: Talent Show @ 5:00pm
1) Appropriate Content --- All music, lyrics, dance moves and costumes must be appropriate for TK-6 audience. If you have any questions about the content of the performance, please ask for approval before you start to practice. We don't want anyone to be disqualified. Please bring the lyric sheet to the audition.
2) Duplicate Songs --- Performers will not be able to duplicate songs that are being performed by others. The Producer reserves the right to request that a performer choose another appropriate song and re-audition. The first performer to return this Interest Form with their song selection will be allowed to perform that song in the show.
3) Vocal Track --- Vocalists are allowed to use tracks that have background vocal only. The principal vocal track must be removed to hear the performer.
6) One-Act Limit --- We anticipate many participants. For this reason, students may only audition for one act. A 6th grader, however, can be a MC as well as participate in an act. There is no guarantee your student will get the preferred act indicated on this form.
