President's Message
Dear West Creek Families,
We hope that you had a fun and restful summer with your family and friends. We are excited to start another great school year at West Creek Academy and would like to welcome all our new students at Fun For Fours, Kindergarten, and other grades, as well as our continuing Elementary students and their families.
We have already been working hard planning for the school year. We appreciate your support and encourage you to volunteer and be a part of building unforgettable memories for your kids. Whether you can spare 30 minutes or 30 hours a week, your time is valuable and we will appreciate any time you can share with us. Below are some of our events for the fall for potential volunteer opportunities.

PTA General Association Meeting
Our next PTA General Association Meeting will be held on 8/26 at 7 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room. Light refreshments will be served. Drop by and find out what's happening at our wonderful school and how you can get involved. It's also a good opportunity to get updates from our Principal, Mr. Pak. Children are always welcome to attend. Hope to see you there!
Volunteer Training
If you plan on volunteering in the classrooms or helping out at any of our events, please remember that you must attend one of our volunteer training sessions. Our first volunteer training session will be on 8/26 at 6:15 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room. The next volunteer training session will be on 8/29 at 8:30 AM in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Direct Donations
Welcome! We are looking forward to another great year filled with exciting academic and extracurricular activities. As you know, West Creek Academy is one of the top ranked elementary schools in the Saugus Union School District, despite being only open for a few years. We were only able to achieve such success with your support!
As we start the year, the DIRECT DONATION fundraiser is kicking off. Our goal is to raise $90,000 with 100% participation. Last year we raised $77,800 with 76% participation. No donation is to big or to small. We are confident that we can achieve our goal.
Please review the information sheet and pledge form that came home with your child this week. We look forward to receiving it back from you. You can return the form with your child in class, or drop it off at the office. PTA Membership
Welcome to West Creek Academy! PTA invites you to join us in making a difference in the education and quality of life for all children. As such, we encourage you to watch us grow as a PTA community to benefit our children and our school. By now, you should have received our Membership family letter. Dues are $7.00 each and remember - anyone can join! Please complete the envelope, include your membership fees and return it to your child's teacher today!! All families who join will have their name displayed in the MPR, receive discounts and coupons from our PTA partners. Those who join bySeptember 15th will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a free yearbook ($32.00 value). The first classroom to reach 100% PTA membership by September 5th will receive a pizza party! The classroom with the highest total PTA membership will be awarded a DJ/Popsicle party! We look forward to another great year at West Creek Academy and with everyone's help we can all watch our PTA grow!
Fall Festival
Join in the fun! West Creek Academy's Fall Festival is right around the corner. The event will take place on Friday, October 24th from 4:00pm-7:00pm and offer games, prizes, trick or treating and more for our students and families. Committee meetings will begin the first week of September. If you would like to be a part of our committee and/or volunteer to help at Fall Festival, please contact Stacie House using the contact form to the right (choose "Fall Fesitival" for your recipient).
International Night
Please join us on September 19 for West Creek Academy's 3rd annual International Night. This is a night where we come together to celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity we have here at our school.
There will be tables representing countries around the world, with samples of snacks and appetizers, along with some cultural display items. We will have dancers from around the globe showing us their moves. We plan to have a fashion show, as well as activity tables with henna painting, writing names in different language scripts and other crafts.
We need your help to make this night a successful one. We would love to have everyone join us again, along with new faces and places! WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DANCES, FASHION SHOW AND SET UP COUNTRY TABLES.
We will have our first meeting on Tuesday, August 19 at 830 am in the MPR.. After that, our meetings will be either Tuesday or Thursday mornings.
If you would like to get involved with this exciting event, either by participating in the program or helping organize, please contact our chairs Monica Krishnan, Rose Manzano, and Sunanda Vadapalli using the contact form to the right (choose "International Night" for your recipient). Any and all help will be appreciated!
Reflections
Come show your inner artist and join Reflections! The theme this year is "the world would be a better place if......" Make a film, write a story, choreograph a dance, write a music composition or paint a picture! All entries need to be turned in on October 1, 2014 before or after school in the MPR. It's time to get our acts together for WEST CREEK ACADEMY'S 2014 TALENT SHOW!! We need you! What will you sing? What sort of magic or special talent will you share with us? What great dance or piano piece will "wow" us?

Are you interested in joining our Production Team? We are meeting next Wednesday, August 20th at 1:50 PM in the MPR. We'd love to have you join us. If you have never worked in production and not sure what you can do...don't worry, we'll train you, all you need is a love for kids and a willing heart to serve. We have tons of fun!! Looking forward to hearing from you.
